Access to your camera and microphone
In order to make a Capacity Vault recording we need to access your device's front facing camera and your device's microphone.
If we can't access your camera and microphone then the system will not work. You will be directed to this page to fix the problems.
Unfortunately our helplines are not able to assist you with this step. Hopefully the links below will be useful and let you fix any problems you encounter.
Firstly: please check on your Capacity Vault tab to make sure you have clicked the prompt from us asking to access your camera and microphone. There may be a pop-up window towards the top of your screen. Please click "OK" / "Allow" to permit Capacity Vault to access your front facing camera and your microphone.
Google Chrome access to microphone and camera
Google Chrome is the most popular browser. If you use Google Chrome you can see how to allow Capacity Vault to access your camera and your microphone here.
Safari on Apple devices camera and microphone access
Safari is the browser that comes preloaded onto Apple devices. If you have an iMac (desktop or laptop) then you can see how to update your preferences for your camera and microphone here.
Edge on PC (laptop or desktop) access to camera and microphone

Firefox microphone and camera access
Firefox is a browser released by Mozilla and is the most commonly installed browser after Google's Chrome. If you are using Firefox you can see how to allow Capacity Vault to access your microphone and your camera here.
Other internet browsers
There are a large number of internet browsers available. We are unable to provide links to each of these. If you use a different browser you can search for "[browser name] access to camera and microphone".
Alternatively you can download a commonly used browser such as Chrome or Firefox and start the process of making your Capacity Vault recording afresh.
